Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Mian Maqsood Ahmad, expressed that the power outage increased to 16 hours a day as start of the summer season. This is not only affecting the businesses badly and the general public is suffering with shortage of drinking water. Government officials repeatedly claimed that load-shedding would be wiped out by 2017, but the situation on the ground is contrary to the slogans, as the short fall reaching to 5,000 megawatts. These indicators shows this outage will be prolong, as government is not serious in eliminating the departmental corruptions, line losses and bills recoveries from their own blue eyed industrialists. The government should take immediate steps to ensure required power generation which fulfill the country needs as soon as possible, he demanded.
